Have you heard about 3D printing? Did you know that *you* can use 3D printers and design software? The “desktop manufacturing revolution” is here! This three-hour course will introduce you to the operation and theory behind the “desktop” 3D printer, and walk you through the basics of designing items to be printed. Bring your ideas for things you’d like to make and we’ll talk about how to make them a reality! We will learn about the design limitations for 3D printing, learn to use free online design software, and learn how digital design files get turned into a printed object. Completion of this course will also satisfy the training requirement that members need to use the 3D printers at Ithaca Generator.
