We recently traveled to Rochester Mini Maker Faire to share some of our work and get folks hooked on the power of making. Mark, Greg, and Elliot set up a RoboSumo workshop where makers remixed weird old toys with DC motors to make something entirely new. Claire and Gabe shared the stream gauge project they built and installed with Cornell Soil and Water Lab, 4-H, and the Community Science Institute. And Dirk, Vic, and Chris exhibited Air Quality Egg, a product from their electronics company Wicked Device. It’s no accident that projects from Ithaca are about earth science and caring for the environment. That’s pretty high up on the list of priorities in the land of gorges.
Thanks Roc Maker Faire for hosting the event. We especially enjoyed meeting the women from AdaSpace – who are aiming to create a women focused makerspace with child care – as well as meeting the Cyrcraft Crew who design and build circus equipment. So much awesomeness in one place :)
