Sugru and the Art of Repair

Last night we hosted another Instructables Build Night, this time with the material Sugru. Sugru is an air drying rubber invented by Jane Ní Dhulchaointigh. It can be used to repair, modify, or mash-up existing products. Dhulchaointigh grew up on a farm where there was a DIY spirit and ethos of repair. She was in a grad program for product design when she conceived the concept for Sugru, a material that would empower folks to tap into their creativity and repair or modify products that needed fixing. It’s been a long road bringing this product to market (see interview below) but we’re happy to see that it’s finally taking off. Sugru enables users to engage in a perfect mix of fun, creativity, and fixability.
